Welcome Girlfriends & Company,

I can’t say this enough:  Time really flies fast when you’re having fun.  The last couple months have been a whirlwind for me.  Not only did I go on a fabulous nine-day Jamaican vacation with Girlfriend Yolanda Martinez for our Jamaica in July getaway, but GMU is undergoing amazing changes faster than I can tell you about them!

I’m really excited to share the latest news with you.  GMU is entering a period of reconstruction and adjustments.  We’re transforming GMU into a vehicle for nationwide friendship-building so women all over the country can get out and make new friends.  It’s going to be a fun ride and we’re glad to have you with us on this journey! 

The biggest step in our nationwide goal so far is our development of “The Pathway to Friendship”, a social media website that will make you forget all about Facebook.  Its creation will allow Girlfriends nationally to connect with other Girlfriends and post their interests, similar to the forum we have now.  Our no-networking policy will remain enforced.  Make sure to keep your membership active in order to access the site.  We will keep you informed on the launch date but, until then, our current forum is still available for you.  If you haven’t taken the time out of your busy schedule to connect with your Girlfriends lately, log in to your account and visit our forum.

This fall Girlfriends Meet | Up will open our new corporate office in Dallas, Texas.  I will host the events as I always do – there’s no way I’d miss out on our fabulous parties.  The change will be that our events will not always be in Las Vegas; I will be hosting events around the country.  Not only will this give our future Girlfriends in other cities a chance to have a party near them, it will also give you an excuse to get out of the city for a few days!  So, the plan is to have our Halloween and Holiday parties here in Las Vegas this year but after that we’re going to start spreading the events nationally. 

I am sorry to announce that this month’s event has been cancelled due to our move.  But don’t let that stop you from getting together!  Make use of the forum and remain connected.  Meet up for coffee, a movie, dinner or a show.  There’s so much to do and see in Las Vegas.  We will keep you posted on the next fantastic event, our Halloween party, which is always a blast.

We launched our travel division this year.  Book all your travel needs with us and receive exclusive member discounts.  I just got back from Jamaica and am already getting excited about our next getaway.  We are working on “The Girlfriends Weekend Unfold Your Body, Mind & Soul™” 2011 and I can’t wait to announce the location!  Click here or call client services at 702-363-3887 for more information about travel.

Our Girlfriend of the Month is someone very special to me:  My daughter, Candace.  She’s smart, beautiful and has a big heart.  She has been a member of GMU since conception and has worked late nights as a membership consultant and researching.  She is a first-year Student Dentist at Baylor School of Dentistry in Dallas, TX and attends GMU events during the summer.  Thank you Candace for all you do; I’m grateful to have you as a daughter and a member.  To read Candace’s complete profile, click here.
